What actually happens, day by day

  1. Day 0
    Free evaluation
    An engineer walks your roof, inspects your attic, and emails a written report — regardless of whether you hire us.
  2. Day 1–7
    Design & proposal
    We spec a system to your home: shingle class, underlayment, ventilation, and flashings. Line-item pricing.
  3. Day 7–14
    Materials & permit
    We handle permits (where required) and materials get delivered 24–48 hours before install.
  4. Install day
    1–2 days on site
    Most Central Texas homes install in a single day. Larger or complex roofs take two. Full cleanup, magnet sweep, and homeowner walkthrough.
  5. Day 30 & beyond
    Warranty & follow-up
    Manufacturer-backed warranty registered in your name. We come back at 30 days and after the next major storm.

At completion you receive the Power Package — five documents including the warranty registration in your name, the impact-resistant certification for your insurance carrier, and the supplier's material invoice showing exactly what went on the roof.

The manufacturer-backed system warranty comes first, because it is honored by the manufacturer rather than by us. Atrium holds Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, the top tier of the Owens Corning contractor network, which makes the enhanced Owens Corning system warranty available on our installs, and GAF Certified Plus, which makes the GAF Silver Pledge available. Either one is registered in your name.

Underneath that sits our own additional layer. Written 10-year workmanship warranty on your roof replacement, non-prorated and fully transferable. It covers the work we performed, and it is only worth as much as we are still in business, which is why the manufacturer document is the one to read first.

The system, not the shingle

Every layer matters

A modern roof is five components working together. When one fails, the others age faster.

1. Decking

Usually plywood or OSB. Must be dry, flat, and fastened correctly. Soft decking is replaced during tear-off.

2. Ice & water barrier

Self-adhesive membrane at eaves, valleys, and penetrations. This is your last line of defense against wind-driven rain.

3. Synthetic underlayment

Replaces old felt paper. Tear-resistant, UV-stable, and much safer to walk on during install.

4. Flashings

Metal transitions around chimneys, walls, and pipes. The #1 source of preventable leaks — we replace them, we don’t reuse them.

5. Ventilation

Balanced intake (soffit) and exhaust (ridge). Poor ventilation cooks shingles from below and voids most warranties.

Replacement FAQs

Most Central Texas homes are done in one day. Larger homes (over 3,500 sq ft), steep pitches, or multi-layer tear-offs take two. Weather can extend timelines, but we schedule around forecasts.

No. You can stay home and go about your day. Expect noise from around 7am to 5pm on install day, and please move any wall-mounted art in case of vibrations.

Yes — Central Texas winters are ideal for roofing. Shingles seal properly above 45°F, and we adjust install methods when it’s colder. We do not install during rain.

Only if it needs it. We inspect every board once shingles are off and replace only what’s soft, rotted, or delaminating. You approve any additional decking before we install it.

We tarp beds and use magnetic sweepers over all walking paths and lawn areas. Damage to plants is rare, and we make it right if it happens.

Yes. Manufacturer system warranties transfer once to the next homeowner and become a strong selling point at listing time.
